Keep it hydrated with Dermalogica and Sodastream

Finally, something to quench my skin’s thirst! I couldn’t wait any longer to share this post with you, but I had to try a new beauty regime for at least two weeks to have some results to brag about. It’s been a terrible weather, with extremes in temperature, harsh winds, hail and rain in the past month, thus I needed a change in my beauty routine. After discovering Dermalogica and Sodastream, I’ve decided to put them both to a test and check the levels of my skin’s hydration afterwards.

I am pretty sure you are familiar with Dermalogica, and the hype behind it is well deserved. The  number one choice of skin care professionals and consumers worldwide, because for over 25 years the brand has been dedicated to innovate, and educate on the benefits of skin health. By removing common irritants from the ingredient menu, Dermalogica also introduced the specialized expertize of the professional skin therapist. Dermalogica hydratingThe first product I tried the past few weeks, which I fell in love with, is the Skin Hydrating Masque. I’ve been using hydrating masks before, especially when I feel my skin tight and in need of TLC, or after an invasive peeling treatment. This mask from Dermalogica is refreshing, moisturising and includes calming botanicals and antioxidant vitamins that restore critical moisture to dry, stressed skin. Unique cross-linked Hyaluronic Acid traps moisture to deliver time released hydration for lasting suppleness. I’ve been using it once or twice per week, depending on how often I use makeup to be honest. Also, because of pregnancy, I have some dry patches around my nose and mouth, and I have been trying loads of creams, but the power of Dermalogica prevailed and now the dryness has disappeared.

Another product I already introduced in my routine beauty bag, is the Skin Smoothing Cream. The medium-weight moisturizer contains lecithin and aloe gel for deep moisturising, while extracts of mallow, cucumber and arnica soothe and hydrate the skin, helping to restore suppleness and tone. You thought this is all? The cream contains also antioxidant grape seed extract plus vitamins C and E to fight environmental assaults. What I love about this cream is that it is absorbed immediately, without letting your skin feel tight, as I found with other similar creams in texture. Makeup is applied beautiful on top of it, so it definitely deserves a spot in my day to day routine.

Last but not least, I’ve been applying the Hydrablur Primer in the morning, for a perfectly matte and long-lasting makeup. Lightweight and non-greasy, it minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, mattifies against oily shine and imparts a silky, luminous finish to skin. I will be definitely using this primer more when summer comes, to stop the oil building on my T-zone, due to hot temperatures. Sodastream and dermalogicaSo what is the deal with SodaStream and Dermalogica? Well, first of all, let’s see what SodaStream is. I must confess, I’ve never heard about the concept, and I wasn’t a big fan of bubbly water either. But after some research, I found out that if you’re trying to drink more water but get bored of it and reach for soft drinks instead, it’s time to give carbonated water a try. The healthy alternative to soda, carbonated water is plain water with dissolved carbon dioxide. It is a good way to stay hydrated and it also improves indigestion and constipation. Water keeps you hydrated, is necessary for moving nutrients throughout your body, keeps you feeling full between meals and reduces fluid retention. Adding carbonated water to your drinking routine may help you meet your daily fluid needs to stay hydrated.

What is SodaStream then? With the use of SodaStream the same great sparkling water taste can be created at home straight from the tap. No lugging water bottles from the shops, no high cost every time you want sparkling water and no throwaway plastic bottles. A recent survey discovered that  people with SodaStream consume 43% more water and water-based drinks than those without. That’s about 3 more glasses of water per day per person! So what are you waiting for? Fizz up and drink up! Enjoy fresh sparkling water at home anytime. All you need is tap water and a SodaStream Sparkling Water Maker and you’ll never run out. Simply fill your SodaStream BPA free carbonating bottle with tap water and add as much fizz as you like. Each Sparkling Water Makercomes with a gas cylinder which can make up to 60 litres of sparkling water.

There you have it, my secret of staying hydrated the past couple of weeks with SodaStream and Dermalogica. It is never enough to use the best creams possible; you need help from within! Let me know your thoughts and secrets of hydrating your skin!
