The Royal Blue Resort – Crete Island, Greece

This summer I got to experience Crete Island and the Greek lifestyle. There is something about Greece that makes me want to explore it’s beauty, live like the locals and breath that fresh-salty breeze of the sea. After a week of staying in 3 different hotels, I start my review with the most luxurious of them. The Royal Blue Resort & Spa in Panorama, Rethymno is a fascinating place to spend your holiday away from home. Dwell in exclusive hospitality, relaxation and recreation in one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve stayed at. The resort was built over 4 years ago and it seems like you’re stepping in a small town, with multiple villas, majestic pools, inviting restaurants and a refreshing Wellness and Spa. Who would want to live this heaven?

The Royal Blue Resort offers the experience of premier services in luxurious waterfront suites or exclusive villas with individual swimming pools. Our room was impressive, facing the sea, with a jacuzzi on the terrace that made my husband happy the entire holiday. The spacious living room, the private balcony with beautiful sea view, the comfortable king size bed, made our holiday special. The resort is the ideal choice for honeymoons, but also weddings, events, and family holidays.

The kids club that can look after your offspring from 10 in the morning to 9 in the evening, was a big selling point for me. The kids have a swimming pool, trained personnel to entertain them, a lot of toys and a tree house. This way you can enjoy sunbathing, going to the spa or any other grownup activity, meant to make your holiday as memorable as it can be.

Located in a private bay, the 5 star resort is a tranquil exclusive place on the northern coast of Crete. With two main pools, 36 private pools, tennis courts, mini golf, soccer courts, library, mini market, and an outdoor gym, the 70 acres gorgeous resort is a fantastic destination not to be missed. The heavenly private bay with sunbeams and umbrellas offers also a wide selection of water sports.

There are 4 restaurants to choose from, as well as the Cave (a la carte adults only) located close to the beach. We had lunch at the restaurant next to the biggest swimming pool, and the food was delicious. Dinners were served at the main buffet style restaurant where we had a really vast choice of dishes and cuisines. You can enjoy an authentic Mediterranean gastronomy experience, live cooking, international flavours, Cretan cuisine and high-end gourmet fine dining across the various eateries. There’s a wine cellar, a fun bar perfect for cocktails and sushi and the Sunset Lounge Bar; the place to be for epic views as the name suggests, accompanied by dazzling DJs and live music.

Despite all the fabulous places to entertain at the Royal Blue, there’s a relaxed vibe and if you truly need to relax, simply pay a visit to the luxurious Pure Senses Spa to refresh and rejuvenate and make use of their sauna, Turkish bath, indoor heated pool, massage treatment menu, facial treatment menu, relaxation lounge, beauty treatments, hairdresser and fitness centre!

The staff is really friendly and ready to help. I was happy to see they have an app through which you can order food and drinks from the comfort of your sunbed.

Built among lush gardens above the deep blue waters of the Cretan Sea, the Royal Blue Resort is definitely one of the most beautiful and enchanted places I’ve ever visited, which make me love Greece even more. Here you have the opportunity to relax by the pool or enjoy the tranquility of a private beach in an idilic space. The Royal Blue Luxury Beach Resort lies next to the small traditional village of Panormo and just 18km away from the picturesque and historical town of Rethymnon. The resort enjoys its own private bay and an endless horizon of Cretan Blue sea and skies. You are located 58km from Heraklion Airport and 80km Chania airport. I wished this holiday never ended, but I am sure I will visit the Royal Blue soon!
