Silverlake, Dorset – Family holiday by Habitat Escapes
We’ve been so impressed with our trip to Lower Mill Estate a few years back, that we wanted to visit another Habitate Escapes holiday home, this time in Dorset. Silverlake is a new development of sustainable holiday homes located in the beautiful preserved West Dorset. Right in the middle of lakes, woodlands, historic heathlands, Silverlake has provided us with the ultimate family retreat. Rich in nature and wildlife, the residential community has a strong sense of exploring the reserve. There are loads of opportunities for boating and fishing, while cyclists, runners and horseriders can take advantage of an extensive network of private footpaths, cycle routes and bridleways.
We absolutely love connecting with nature and spending time in a beautiful place such as Dorset, and Silverlake is just the perfect location that combines both locations and beautiful architecture set amongst lakes and woodland. Silverlake comprises privately owned properties that welcome everyone and provide memorable family holidays. All of the properties are amazing, and I got really inspired in decorating my own home after 2 days spent here.
All of the properties have outdoor spaces, while some have log-burners, DVD players and BBQs, some have little extras such as pizza ovens, hammocks and private ponds. Our property had an open living space downstairs with a fully equipped kitchen we used for making breakfast, and a nice lounge area to unwind, listen to music and watch Netflix. The patio outside was really appreciate by our little one, as well as my family, as we were lucky to get a nice sunny day.
There are lots to do at Silverlake, such as relaxing at The Hurricane spa and soaking up the views from the outdoor heated pool. There are bikes and canoe to hire on-site so you can enjoy cycling, boating and your outdoor adventure as soon as you arrive. There are lots of animals to spot as well on the property, such as Dartmoor ponies, rare butterflies, deer and migrating birds. There is a tennis court, a gym and a multi-use games area waiting for you. Kids can play on the wooden adventure playground perfect for climbing, as well as swings and zip wire. There is an eco-pool for refreshing dip as well.
The kitchens in all properties are superbly equipped for self-catering. Food hampers and BBQ packs can be pre-ordered. If you’re staying in Beaumont village there is a communal BBQ and fire-pit on the village green.
If you’re after a beautiful hideaway for peace and quite, or you prefer something more action-orientated, there is something for the entire family at Silverlake.
