Habitat Escapes, Lower Mill Estate – Making memories in Cotswolds

Cotswolds is one of the most beautiful regions in the UK, one we are truly fond of, ever since we decided to call England home. A month ago we dedicated an entire weekend to discover more about the wonders of Cotswolds. I know, not enough time, but we plan on going back next year because I am obsessed with the raw beauty, the people, the food, the particularities of the region.

Staying at Habitat Escapes in Lower Mill Estate has been amazing and we are definitely going back, since the award-winning community of sustainable holiday homes is the perfect setting to experience Cotswolds. Born out of a passion to put nature first, the residential reserve was established almost two decades ago. It combines a sense of security with the freedom to escape the demands of urban life. Lower Mill Estate is a place I would definitely love to live, a place where like-minded people build their own beautiful homes and immerse themselves in the natural environment.

The community has so many options to rent for spending time with your family, from apartments to 6 beds villas, all benefiting from top of the line appliances, modern furniture and beautiful views. We loved our 3 bedrooms apartment overlooking one of the lakes. Clean, bright, spacious, the entire family felt like home and we actually ended up spending more time indoors than we planned. The weather was terrible but still, even when sun made its way through the dark clouds, we found it more comfortable to have a long breakfast, or play some board games early evenings.

The secure managed environment, rich in nature and wildlife is absolutely breath-taking. You meet all the ducks crossing the road, scenic lakes unfold wherever you lay your eyes on, while cyclists and runners can take advantage of the fresh clean air thanks to a network of private footpaths. There is opportunity for boating and fishing too, or if you’re after total relaxation, the spa offers a vast range of health and beauty relaxation treatments. For those eager to get close to nature, the woodlands and hedgerows are home to a diverse range of native wildlife, ready to explore. There are endless activities and facilities on site to keep you and the family entertained; enjoying the great outdoors season after season.

With all the comfort of the luxury accommodation, enjoying the great outdoors is all part of being at Lower Mill. Whether enjoying the tranquillity of the lakes in a kayak or canoe, gliding effortlessly on a paddle board cycling the pathways or. The Activity Hub (Near the water mill) is on site to assist with both equipment hire, instruction and local information. They also carry brochures & information about places to visit in the local area. You can Pre-book canoes, bikes etc so that readymade fun awaits at your holiday home on your arrival.

The entire region is beautiful, offering something to visit to everyone. You can just spend your holiday at the estate with plenty of activities, or you plan a few trips to the wonderful towns nearby. I am writing a guide on how to spend 3 days in Cotswolds, make sure to check my website next week!
