Charlotte Tilbury and Chantecaille – the makeup brands to have and to hold

August 22, 2015

Yes, makeup defines women. It is not the only thing that does that, so don’t get me wrong and label me as superficial. A really well executed makeup could go a long way and could open doors. Your face is your business card, believe me! It might be sad, but it is the truth. I wish I could save the two hours I need to beautify myself before an event, but unfortunately, I am not a perfect Colombian girl. Thank God for the miracle makeup that everyone compliments me for. You want to know my secret? Well, I have two: they are called Charlotte Tilbury and Chantecaille.

I am truly impressed with a successful story, and Charlotte Tilbury, a makeup artist with over 20 years of experience, transforms the power of makeup on a daily basis. Knowing that every woman wants to feel beautiful, powerful and sexy, she developed an amazing makeup line, working with the most incredible people in fashion and beauty such as Mario Testino, Kate Moss, Jennifer Lopez, Penelope Cruz, Tom Ford, Christopher Bailey and many more.

So, what products have I tested? The Rock ‘N’ Khol eyeliner pencils have the silky smooth glide of a liquid liner with a soft, sooty, pigment-rich result of a kohl. ROCK ‘N’ KOHL melts onto your skin for an easy, 1-slick line that blends then sets. I have them in three shades perfect for any season: brown, mink and violet and they do wonders for smokey eyes. With an waterproof formula, your makeup will remain intact all day and all night.  Below you have a tutorial on how to apply this amazing eyeliner.

MATTE REVOLUTIONThe next product I absolutely love is the Matte Revolution Glastonberry lipstick that creates the illusion of fuller, wider lips. Enriched with lipstick tree extract which protects lips and is a natural anti-oxidant, and Orchid Extract which soothes and hydrates for a soft, buildable cashmere finish. Glastonberry is a sheer blackcurrant hue is for sexy kittens and rock n’ rollers like Rihanna, Grace Jones and Rita Ora. I knew this colour is really trendy this season but I never knew it would look good on me, until all the girls I met the day I was wearing it asked to try it on! The revolutionary square angled tip mimics the shape of a lip brush for precision application. I was so impressed with the quality and the design of the packaging, so precious! It works best by applying a lip liner to perfect your lip shape and make your lipstick stay in place from desk ‘til dusk.

One product I take in my beach bag, along my SPF cream and thermal water, is the Beach Stick Las Salinas. My holiday summer glow is bottled into this product. The happy, healthy, rested, youthful glow, that only a week at the beach can give me. Simply apply Beach Sticks to your lips and cheeks for a pop of dewy, youthful colour in one effortless stroke of these easy, twist-up colour sticks. There are five shades inspired by the unique lighting, golden sands & bronzed goddesses of Ibiza. Las Salinas is a candy, fresh, pretty pink that captures the cool, young vibe of this legendary beach. Glowing pigments blend easily onto the surface, illuminating the skin with brilliant colour-saturated pigments giving you an irresistible summer glow. Light-Diffusing Spheres soft-focus imperfections and bring radiance to the face, for the perfect summer flash of colour.

Another product for summer confidence in a bottle is the Supermodel Body, enriched with FermiProtect to firm the skin and sculpt your contours, and a precious-metal highlighter mix to highlight down the centre of legs and arms to create the illusion of leaner, longer limbs. It has a precious-metal highlighter mix giving a flattering radiant glow though catching the light down the centre of your limbs. Caffeine detoxes the skin tissues, reducing unevenness in the skin and any bloated puffiness. Such an amazing product that would be perfect for all my shootings.

The Goddess Skin Clay Mask will convert you forever! I will use clay masks once in a while, not as often because they dry out my face, but this mask from Charlotte Tilbury will leave you moisturised, dewy and glowing whilst also tightening your pores and clearing imperfections. This supercharged Goddess Skin Clay Mask is based on an ancient Mediterranean beauty recipe, which combines gentle yet nutrient-rich Spanish clay with Sweet Almond Oil, prized for its nourishing properties. Celebrity facialists have been sharing the formula with their clients to use in between treatments leading up to a red carpet appearance. Now everyone can have flawless, glowing Goddess Skin – discover the rebirth of your skin, the results are breathtaking. I am not leaving home for an important event without applying this mask prior to my makeup. It is a must!

Le Chrome Luxe Eye Duo Chantecaille is not just a brand; it is a legacy. Born from one generation to be passed on to the next. Their goal is to set a standard in the world of cosmetics while spreading awareness on global issues. These aspirations make Chantecaille a modern day icon. From remote fields in the south of France to laboratories leading the way in scientific innovation, Chantecaille creates products they believe in. They only provide the most luxurious quality, smells and textures. Highly concentrated in natural botanicals, this brand is an absolute precious addition to my makeup bag, so I had to tell you all about it. I have tried their Chrome Luxe Eye Duo, sensuous in feel and luxurious in application. The crease-free and ultra-blendable formula can be applied dry for a sheer wash of metallic radiance or dampened for a liquid-metal effect. Offering true versatility and adjustable color, the duos can be used to create a variety of eye-catching looks ranging from dramatic to demure.

Makeup  is dear to my heart and my heart skips a beat every time I discover new products that will become permanent addition in my kit. Let me know if you’ve tried these brands and what do you think!
