The fur coat of the season

We still have a couple of months to enjoy the rusty autumn before going into a (faux) fur coats conversation, but it’s better to be prepared than sorry. I have to admit, I’ve always been a fan of all things fluffy, but never wore anything that will make me look like a bear. I had the ultimate respect for all the fashionistas that could pull off a fur coat, because the elegance can soon transform into a furry circus and I didn’t want that. But, and this is a big BUT, after trying this Dorothy Perkins cream cameo faux fur I was hooked with no turning back. The current collections have so much to offer in this department, from long coats to gilets. Faux fur is fun and combining novelty with colour-blocks or classic vintage styles, the fur coat is a sure investment for the cold weather.

Now, all I dream about are cosy, soft, fur coats to snuggle in, and I have made room for my next purchases. It not only keeps you warm, but it looks sophisticated, without even trying too much. It goes just as well dressed up, or down. For day I am definitely recommending pairing the coat with jeans and Chelsea boots, and for evening, pair it with a bodycon dress, the same length or shorter than the coat. My look is a hybrid between the two recommendations, because I like keeping it stylish even when I am meeting someone for lunch, or for a business talk. Because it is a day look, I am carrying my well admired Keats Grove bag from Radley, an elegant structured shape, inspired by traditional letter writing and named after John Keats, the beloved English romantic poet. The light rose is perfect to sweeten up the dull weather in London, won’t you agree?
