How to style your bump for the summer

on
July 1, 2016

No matter the season, all pregnant ladies need to feel fabulous because there are so many physical, emotional and hormonal changes we go through, we don’t need another mirror to show the fluffy, dull and harsh reality maternity is for some of us. When it comes to maternity apparel, there are only a few brands who actually flatter the bump, and don’t add to your already changed  silhouette. Taking a glimpse of yourself in the shop windows can be depressing, especially for me, being skinny all my life, so it is definitely important to feel like a million dollar marshmallow. This is where Isabella Oliver comes into play. The London-based brand of women and mums is aware that your body, sense of self and style changes during pregnancy, thus it designs clothes that will make you comfortable and stylish at the same time. With clever design, combining exceptional fabrics with detail-driven design techniques, and exceptional fit, Isabella Oliver is investing in luxury fabrics and effortless outfitting as well.

The Beaumont Striped maternity dress I decided to wear on a sunny morning, away from all the overcrowded city buzz, was perfect for a coffee date with my girlfriends. Just right for work, or a mini break, the versatile navy stripes dress is really comfortable, hugs your bump in a flattering way, and it puts you in a holiday mood, reminiscing of a seaside getaway. The fresh stripes, modern zip detail and pleasing fall-away fit make this premium structured fabric one of my favourite outfit for the summer.

With oedema, mood swings, and excessive heat, stacking lots of rings, necklaces and bracelets won’t make it on the list of outfit sweeteners. This is why I rely on watches as my final choice of completing  a look. CLUSE Watches are becoming really popular, due to their slick and stylish look, really simple but modern. Simple is not about being plain. It is about being grounded, sophisticated and true to oneself. Away from distractions and focused on the things that are truly important in life. With this mindset, CLUSE is committed to creating timepieces that represent elegance and minimalism.

I chose a gold mesh watch with black dial as it is a timepiece which brings the best out of any look. The Boheme watch  is really refined, and with CLUSE”s interchangeable straps, you can easily personalize their watches. CLUSE is there not only to indicate time, but to define your best moments and captivate attention in all simplicity. Produced in Amsterdam, the brand focuses on materials, quality and style. I must admit, I got lots of compliments while wearing it proud on my wrist!

You need comfy ones, but as fashionistas all around will tell you, accessories will make you or break you. I’ve been relying on flats throughout my entire pregnancy because I am no Victoria Beckham, but trainers can only take an outfit so far. What do you wear when you want to flatter the bump? Impressive flats, that is! The Dune Heti pointed flats with studded strap have been my favourite ever since I saw them at the preview Spring collection. Perfect for easy everyday style, featuring a two-part design, stud detailing and reptile effect leather. The style does remind you of the classic Valentino, but until I’d be able to afford their beautiful shoes, I am absolutely enchanted by my Dune white comfy and stunning flats. They really capture the attention when you’re wearing them, so I still need to work on my pregnancy duck smooth walking.
