Beauty routine: face treatments and masks

Cleanser? Check. Toner? Check. Moisturizer? Check. There you have it—the complete skin care regimen. Right? Actually, there’s something missing here, and it’s missing from many of our routines: the facial mask. I  must admit, I have long searched for the best deep moisturizer mask and face treatments to work over night. I have finally found my beauty routine that works! Let me remind you, my skin is dry, dull, prone to acne and spots. I envy all the girls with their perfect clean skin, especially those who do nothing to keep it that way. So, for the rest of us, whom the nature and genetics haven’t been that generous, I am sharing my weekly routine.

[box type=ok]Masks can be used to moisturize, detoxify, increase circulation and replenish nutrients.

But above all, they add an extra dimension to the skin-care routine, and they are truly pampering.

The right face mask can be a perfect weekly treat and can give your skin a deep clean, even out tone and improve texture.[/box]

[box type=info]Mature skin: Rich cream masks that replenish nutrients and oils in dehydrated skin as they support cell renewal and improves circulation. It should contain menthol, camphor and rosemary to stimulate blood flow and prevent circulatory congestion. Cornstarch, wheat protein and silk powder firm the skin, giving it a more youthful appearance for up to 10 hours.

Dry skin: Emollients like sunflower and jojoba oils condition the skin, and gentle herbs like German chamomile and lavender rejuvenate and nourish. A peel is a mask that will dissolve and digest dead skin cells while accelerating exfoliation.

Combination skin: Cucumber, vitamin C won’t dry out the skin or clog pores. Oatmeal and ground walnuts and almonds gently exfoliate and moisturize.

Oily skin: Deep sea masks gently absorb Chinese kaolin clay and super absorbent green clays work to unclog pores by drawing out excess oil and impurities. Aloe vera and sea algae tone and provide nourishment.

Acne-prone skin: Tea tree and tangerine oils along with red clover and lemongrass provide antibacterial and antimicrobial effects that help keep blemishes at bay.

Sensitive skin: Chocolate masks rich in iron, magnesium and antioxidants, nourish and cleanse while removing dead skin cells and buildup. Leave the skin feeling soft and smooth.

All skin types: A well-balanced, gentle clay mask, based on superfoods and antioxidants  doesn’t dry out skin so it works to soothe and repair stressed skin. Cucumber and birch extracts tone the skin while almond and jojoba oils moisturize.[/box]

[button color=blue url=] 7 Steps to healthy, glowing skin [/button]

[button color=blue url=]1 [/button] Start by cleansing the skin. Use some sort of acid cleanser so it will take dead skin off and allow the mask to penetrate. I use Alpha H Liquid Gold every other night and this is the best face treatment ever!

It is a powerful revitalizing and firming lotion which works like an “overnight facial” to brighten and revitalize tired, ageing skin and visibly improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, open pores and pigmentation. The effects are stunning immediately! I had a bad breakout this winter and tired of all the products used&useless, tried this last one. And it did miracles! Don’t use anything after it, let it work uninterrupted.

[button color=blue url=]2 [/button] Twice a week, deep clean your face. I found Lange Paris Dermabrasion Kit for Facial Rejuvenation works wonders. Specially designed to improve the texture of facial skin, this system helps to relieve stress marks and to refine skin. It smooths and purifies skin for a better skin rejuvenation.

I wash my face first with Avene Cold Cream using the vibrating resurfacing device. Soap free, it has an extremely mild washing formula and a pH level which is perfectly adapted to that of the skin, allowing for gentle cleansing. I follow with Lange scrubbing cream that encourage all-over skin cell renewal. My sister-in-law told me a couple of weeks after using this kit, that my skin looks much brighter and my pores are almost invisible. I can truly say thank you, Lange!

If you don’t have a kit like this, just use any usual scrub cream, like Granalgomme Gel Exfoliant Visage from Coryse Salome. It gently removes all dead skin cells and impurities, giving a smooth, stimulating massage. It leaves your skin soft, bright, moisturized and revitalized.

[button color=blue url=]3 [/button] Steam your face for a few minutes either by using a facial steamer or by draping a towel over your head and leaning over a sink full of hot water. This will allow for deeper mask penetration.

[button color=blue url=]4 [/button] Apply the mask. I found working best for dry skin/normal skin, mud masks like Hydra Mar facial Magic Masque that purifies the skin through the treasured minerals of Dead Sea Mud and helps heal and clear the skin of imperfections. An addition burst of alpha hydroxy acid works with essential minerals to give skin a healthy glow. Leaves skin fresh, supple, and perfectly pH balanced.

I have also found efficient the Coryse Salome firming mask that helps slow the appearance of aging. This firming treatment with skin-tightening effects stimulates the epidermis, hydrating and softening the skin, and leaving it luxuriously supple. The skin regains resilience and softness, it’s texture refined and your complexion bright and luminous.

[button color=blue url=]5 [/button] A few minutes before it’s time to remove the mask (go by the manufacturer’s instructions), apply a hot compress to the face, and leave it on until it’s time to wipe the mask off.

[button color=blue url=]6 [/button] After removing the mask, moisturize the skin. For the ones with dry skin, recommend a heavy nourishing cream. For normal to oily skin, go with a light serum. Follow with sunblock.

[button color=blue url=]7 [/button] Repeat two or three times a week for acne or very oily skin. For normal skin, once a week is fine.
