La Suite West, London – a smart day out in December

You know I love spending time with my blogger friends, discovering new places in London, eating good food and learning more about interesting brands. My job puts me in a position of enjoying often special treats, and I am here to report back and share with you amazing places you can add on your itinerary the next time you’re in London. We’ve started our day with the most intriguing challenge ever. We went to Lock’d, one of the escapes rooms in London, which are trending at the moment, and it was hands down the best day this year. I mean, yes, I went to so many exquisite locations these past few months, but the thrill and excitement I felt while trapped in a room can’t top anything else. Not even a fancy Chef’s Table dinner at the Savoy.

Lock’d is a live-action puzzle game which traps you in a room and you’ve got one hour to solve a mystery before the doors open again. The fascinating challenges unfold right before your eyes. As a tip: don’t overcomplicate things, sometimes if the answer is too simple, it might actually be! Also, nothing is as it looks, so don’t waste time on something when you can be more efficient on another task. I won’t be giving you any clues, just know that you don’t need to be Einstein to solve the puzzles, but a little more observing. We’ve done the Grandpa’s Last Will challenge and we got out in 57 minutes, with 3 minutes to spear. Kinda shameful, but for the first escape room of our lives I think we were OK. We were not trapped there after the deadline, though. You get help from the team if you get stuck, which is a big bonus! I’ve got a gift card to offer to a lucky follower, so you can experiment Lock’d too! Details on my Instagram soon.

All these challenges got us hungry, so we ended up at La Suite West Hotel  for their vegan afternoon tea. I remember attending the launch of their menu a couple of years ago, when I was pregnant with Emma and thinking what a curious way of doing afternoon tea. But the menu was great, so here we are, once again for the healthy version of England’s most popular tradition. The contemporary vegan alternative is a combination of finger sandwiches, home made scones served with coconut cream and fresh strawberries, followed by a selection of home made pastries. No afternoon tea without champagne, but this one comes with a twist, which is the non-alcoholic fizz, really tasty!

The hotel is perfectly situated on a quiet street on the Edge of London’s magnificent Hyde Park and close to the West End and Paddington. The interior design is minimalist combined with the latest technology for that modern Zen atmosphere. Black wood, crisp lines, pruned plants, trees and hedges, the hotel is really an oasis in the middle of some of the most famous touristic spots in London. The staff is really friendly and helpful. We got some midnight cravings after filling in the breakfast card, and when I called the room service for a hot chocolate, the person at the desk told me the kitchen is closed, but he will make the hot chocolate himself. Talk about 5 stars service! After a really good night sleep in the comfortable bed, breakfast in bed was served. My omelette was made exactly as per my instructions. The fruits and croissants were fresh, and they were serving Jing Tea, which is my favourite tea in the entire world! I was quite happy spending time with my blogger friends, chatting away in our room, so I had to put on my pyjamas from Apatchy London for that extra cosy feel. They are so comfortable, fit to sleep in or lounge around on. The brand has an entire range of gifts you can buy for your dear ones, from makeup pouches to stunning holdalls perfect for weekends away. The life of a blogger means busy Mondays so we didn’t want to overstay our welcome, and headed off to our first shooting of the day. Wearing the Apache Rose London accessories curated by the founder Anna Burke, means promoting affordable designer jewellery, unique and qualitative pieces that could make great gifts for your dear ones or for you! Browse the website for really beautiful earrings, bracelets and necklaces, which make such an eclectic selection of accessories.

I want to thank Amy from Social Network Solutions for organizing such a fabulous weekend for us. If you’re inspired by our getaway, find more photos on my Instagram and let me know what you loved the most!
