ModaGid, Russia – December 2015
Sometimes I look up my name on Google, I know, pretty lame, but it is necessary to keep up with all the features. So one day, I have discovered this website from Russia. I didn’t understand anything, so I used Google translate, and as anyone knows, the translation is pretty bad, but still it was better than looking at my images. One of their features about me said I came from Australia and moved to England. Well, if you’ve read my “About me” section, I do say that my heart is in Australia, but obviously I meant I want to move there, not that I am an Aussie. I laughed though, it is still better than to say I am from Eastern Europe;)
So in this new article they say I transition from chef to fashion blogger, which is true but not entirely. I didn’t forget about my passion for cooking, and I still post recipes and restaurant reviews on my website. Not as many recipes, obviously, but just to be clear, I do not have professional training, and I am a chef in my own kitchen and sometimes, in my friends’ kitchens, but that’s it. Regardless, it was sweet of them to mention me:
Fashionista Helen from England was a chef for eight years (it was her dream come true). One day she realized that it is necessary to change something in her life. Probably turning 30 pushed her to do so. So today she is not just a chef, but rather a well-known media personality who knows how to cook and dress up. What came of it, we find together.”
I tried to translate the text a bit with Google, not a Russian speaker though. And then they follow with lots of my pictures from Fashion Week onwards. Thank you, Moda Russia for the mention, it means a lot to me to be recognised in the motherland of so many fashion icons I adore.
