New Year’s Resolutions

on
January 6, 2016

Everyone talks about them, most of us makes them, but how many of us really accomplish any of them? I am obviously talking about #2016resolutions. The hottest trend right now, and at every begging of a new year. But let’s be honest: the soonest we finish the list, the quickest we forget about all the idealistic way we want to live in the proximate future. So I compiled a list of realistic bullet points I know I can do this year, right after my last sip of champagne that night we all remember. I am sharing them with you, because it is going to be much more challenging to come up to the end of the list knowing I have observers. So, here it goes:

  1. Eating healthy this year means salads, water and smoothies. But I am going to be really frank and add a burger monthly in my diet, just to sweeten up my life. You will follow my Instagram and my Snapchat to check any thread or smell of carbs, and I bet there are going to be really amazing shots of sizzling chips and tall cakes, occasionally. But hey, at least I am trying to get green, but not all at once. Some colour never hurt anyone. My cholesterol says another thing, but that’s another story.
  2.  Saving up for rainy days means stopping those sale impulses I get every time I go online, and only getting basics and timeless pieces. I am in my 30s, I need to think on a longer term, and act like a grownup. Yes, you will definitely see me everyday with different clothes, because this is my job, but you will also get tired of the same coat/shoes I fell in love with and forgot I have so many other pieces lined up.
  3. Reading more is my yearly cliche. I have so many books staring at me, literally, crying to be read, but the dust is piling up, because I prefer watching new TV series on and on. I do read, don’t get me wrong, but not as much as before Internet. And I still can’t understand my sick obsession of buying books monthly, either hardcover or on my Kindle, start reading 10 of them at the same time, and then getting bored and finishing just a few. Change woman, change!
  4. Going out with my friends and becoming socially involved for real, not only on my channels. I feel like neglecting my friends sometimes, due to being really busy with events, my blog and so many other projects, that I loose track of what’s really important: friends and family. So expect invites to lunch, museums, picnics and concerts. There might be some moments interrupted of casual pictures, but at least we’re breathing the same air. I promise to treat each and everyone of you with respect.
  5. Living in London means I can miss out on so many new openings if I am not careful, so I want to make time and keep you updated with the hottest places to visit, new trends and ideas that might become a part of your life.

My ultimate goal is to make this blog an oasis of inspiration, a place to de-stress, cheer you up and maybe change your perspective on some things. I have no idea what this year will bring, but I hope I will laugh, cry, and learn my lessons in the process.
