How does a fashion blogger do it? Behind the scene

How do you imagine a photoshoot for a fashion/lifestyle blog? All glamorous, wearing the best clothes and accessories, everything going smoothly, the sun is up and bright, with a slight breeze running through your hair? Well, sometimes it is just like I’ve described it, but most of the time it is not. Let me assure you, we have so much fun during our shootings, we forget all about the issues. You might wonder what issues I am talking about, so here I have made a list of my not-so-proud-of portfolio.

1. The bad hair day

Imagine spending one hour to wash, treat, blow dry your thin hair that won’t stay put whatever you do to it. Imagine watching yourself in the mirror with a gasp of happiness that finally, your hair has a moment of understanding your needs. Then, imagine yourself walking out the door and a powerful wind slaps you in the face, ruining every second spent making yourself pretty. It keeps slapping you all the way through your shooting. I’ve heard people complaining that in almost all my pictures my hand is in my hair. Well, try to take a picture with your hands tight to your back and all your hair in your face, like that “pretty” girl in the Ring. Not a nice view!

2. The wardrobe malfunction

Yes, guys, a fashionista, especially an amateur like me, doesn’t master all the unforeseen events. So updating the hat for a hundred times before it gets blown by the wind, arranging your accessories, or changing your flats with picture approved heels, are all part of the scenery. So if you see two mad girls in the middle of the street caring lots of bags, changing shoes, throwing clothes and talking in a wired language, it’s me and my girl, Dreaming of Chanel. Don’t get scared, just walk away fast. You’ve just witnessed our process.malfunction

3. Embrace the right angle.

Not all of our pictures are just the way we imagine them to be with the first shot. We sometimes haven’t slept well the night before, are getting bored, sick or have simply forgot how to look pretty. But, because we really love what we do, we get by with lots of coffee, good posture and guidance. So you wont be seeing the pictures below, with cramped or funny faces and weird body position, because they are simply not fashionable enough.wierd1

4. Walking down the aisle.

We walk a lot in high heels and it is a miracle we haven’t had any accidents so far due to bad roads, or lack of training before. We do spend a lot of time choosing the best picture that shows how the outfit looks in motion. So the walks taken from behind, where we look crooked or robot-like, wont make the cut.weird2

I hope you’ve had  a laugh like I did while searching for these pictures. I have deleted hundreds of “good” ones and now I regret it. But, I promise to save them all up, because they make good articles of “not like this”.
