St Andrew’s Bistro, St Ives, England

A long weekend in Cornwall can only be celebrated with a special dinner. Mostly when there is a marriage anniversary involved. We’ve looked online, like everybody else these days for the best restaurant in St Ives and St Andrew’s Bistro came up third on TripAdvisor. Let me keep it short that this must be one of the best dinners we ever had. My husband ordered a steak with fresh herbs butter sauce and according to him, it was the best steak he ever had. I normally don’t eat big boys dinner, but I had to taste his and it was simply amazing.

I had a fish and seafood stew that was so big, I couldn’t finish. Really tasty, you could feel the sea while enjoying the fresh fish.

The waitress was so sweet, Australian by her accent and a surfer by her slender figure. She always had a smile on her face, which made our dinner even more perfect, if that’s possible.

St Andrew’s Bistro took it to the next level with it’s desserts. I am not sure who the Chef is but I really want to give him a big hug.  Gabi had a chocolate cheesecake. After he had the first bite, he closed his eyes and was sold. I thought he was exaggerating. I hate cheesecakes and I don’t like chocolate, but I had to try a bit from his plate. It was D-I-V-I-N-E! So rich but light at the same time, couldn’t feel the cheese at all. It was creamy, to die for!

I ordered a white chocolate and orange panna cotta with raspberry coulis and ice cream. The creaminess of this desert shall be legendary! Not at all sweet, just the perfect balance between all the flavors. Combined with Gabi’s cheesecake it was a winner night from start to finish. The prices are on the medium side, but I am happy to pay for what this delicious food deserves.

I can’t wait to go back, even if it is a 7 hours long drive, but it will be worth it.
