EmSculpt procedure review
A year and a half ago I went through a CoolSculpting procedure at Pulse Light Clinic in London, all documented on my blog and on my Instagram, and it made me feel so much more confident in my skin. After giving birth, I was left with a bit of belly fat that would not budge, no matter how many diets or exercises I was doing. The CoolSCulpting procedure is a fat reduction treatment, but it will not make you lose weight.
What is EmSculpt?
The results were incredible, really, but I still felt my skin can be tightened a little bit more, so I looked into Emsculpt, which is an energy based technology that builds muscle and burns fat in 30 minutes, using an electromagnetic field that goes through the skin. The treatment can be applied to abdomen, arms, bottom.
Does EmSculpt hurt?
I went through 4 courses of Emsculpt within 2 weeks, 30 min each, and the procedure does not hurt one bit. You feel like doing 20,000 crunches, so it is a bit intense, but not painful at all. During the procedure treatment paddles are placed in the area and strapped down with a band, and then the energy induces maximal muscle contractions, something that can’t be achieved at the gym.
What are the results?
There is no downtime, I went on with my day just as usual. The results can be seen two to four weeks after the last session and continue to improve for several weeks after. I saw an increase in my stomach muscles and my skin has tightened visibly, but obviously no treatment can work unless I exercise and maintain a healthy lifestyle. It’s been difficult this year with all the lockdowns, but I can still see the results even if I put on a bit more weight than when I did my treatment.
Is CoolSculpting or EmSculpt better?
I am so glad I went through both procedures. Coolsculpting helped reduce a lot of my stomach fat cells and the Emsculpt procedure defined and stimulated the muscle production in this area, while decreasing more fat. The combination of both procedures were essential in my end body transformation goal.
The right treatment for you is determined at your consultation, but it really depends on your body goals. For me, I wanted to fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes, so I was looking to treat the abdomen area. To begin with, we wanted to target and reduce 20-30% fat cells and help define. Three months post CoolSculpting, we reassessed my goals and opted for EmSculpt to be able to decrease the body fat by 19% on the area, whilst also stimulating muscle production. Depending on your goals, you may even require a combination of the two-body sculpting.
Can anyone do EmSculpt?
Not everyone can qualify to Emsculpt treatment, because it is suitable for those with 1 inch or less body fat on the abdomen. If you have more, I am recommending CoolSculpting for fat removal than go on with EmSculpt to further enhance fat loss and stimulate muscle.
