Detox plan
In the middle of a long winter, I have decided to take a break from this tough eating habits with all their meats, sauces and spices. For at least 7 days, deciding then what direction to approach in the near future (vegetarian/pork free/other combinations). I have searched online for natural detox plans, most of them were too drastic and I must confess I don’t want to loose any weight. So I chose an “easier” diet, for the most sensitive of us. Obviously, I’ll loose the toxins (fingers crossed) but eating at least 2000 calories/day (would carrots do the trick) so I will loose only 1-2 kg.
If you want to follow this plan, you can modify it accordingly to your weight, but I must emphasis this “recipe’s” first purpose is to clean your body.
In general, the plan includes:
Fresh or frozen fruits (apples, pears, forest fruits, mango, pineapple, oranges, etc.)/ Fresh juice (unsweetened)/ Fresh vegetables or frozen (carrots, onions, cabbage, peppers, mushrooms, salad, tomatoes, etc.)/ Beans and lentils/ Tofu/ Oats/ Potato/ Brown rice and rice noodles/ Fresh/canned fish/ Nuts and unsalted seeds/ Natural yogurt/ Olive oil and balsamic vinegar/ Garlic, ginger, pepper/ Honey/ 2 litres of water/day/ Natural teas
Forbidden:
Meat/ Milk, cheese, eggs, creams/ Butter/ Wheat based food/ Chips/ Chocolate, jams, sweets/ Alcohol, coffee/ Sauces, pickles, mayo/ Salt/ Fizzy drinks
Now we set all the rules, I will be documenting this entire week’s diet, combined with gym and rest. Let’s hope it will all pay off!

Dinner: Green salad with tomatoes, cucumber, red pepper, spring onion, radish, olive oil and balsamic vinegar
I have started the day with motivation and expectations but after an hour in the gym, I was shaking from hunger. I managed to get by with the big delicious lunch, proof you can face anything without carbohydrates. The dinner salad with no bread what so ever, sent me fast to sleep. I couldn’t help myself to salt my food a bit, or I would’ve ceased immediately. i can’t say I am feeling something different, maybe a little bit lighter. Let’s pray tomorrow I’ll be stronger.

After a shy start, obstacles, temptations and hunger, I have finally reached the end of this diet. I feel amazing, did loose a few pounds. I encourage you to try for at least 3 days, once a year, with your own twist, or helped by my choices. Detox is very fashionable, the internet, magazines and books are there to help you finding the right recipes. I will try, as possible, to have at least one healthy lunch per day, until I will adjust to an exemplary lifestyle.
